I kept waiting for her wide-eyed craziness to come off as heavy handed or ridiculous, but she managed to play it pitch perfect. It was such a collaborative, unique, and totally immersive filming experience that I never really had, nor since. I feel like this has a great moral to the story of not knowing who exactly you are sharing with when you share online, especially when most of the people you share with are completely anonymous. One wonders what someone of his caliber is doing in a mess like this. Nothing has made me feel more out of touch with contemporary entertainment evolution than the rise in popularity of YouTube celebrities, which is a concept I cannot wrap my 80s-raised head around. I like to pride myself on the fact that I read people pretty well. Things might be different if Solo had broken Memorial Day records, but it may not be worth it in the long run.
