It might give us a sense of the extent of White Diamond's mind control ability. Upon arrival, Connie, and Amethyst wake up, they along with Steven saw the ring-planet of Homeworld for the first time. Why didn't you say something at the trial?! Steven explains to them that the affected by the attack weren't exactly obliterated but corrupted. Pearl and Blue Diamond express their doubt about White Diamond's assistance to Steven, adding that White has not left Homeworld in eons. Just one more episode, I said. Given how she seems to be made out of light, even more than the usual Gem , glowing so brightly that it's hard to make her features to the point that her head looks almost like it's two-dimensional from some angles , stands as still as a statue with her arms outstretched something her Pearl shares and speaks in the entire time we see her, it's not hard to see why Pearl would say that.
I'm honestly lost at this point. However, based on what Pearl says, his mother's takeoff method was no more graceful. She is a dazzling eldritch being, the farthest from human we have seen so far in her race. The ship is modeled like a right arm. The coordinated attacks from the crystal gems onto the diamonds reminded me of Avengers Infinity War when they all attack Thanos. It was broadcast on television on December 17, 2018, and it was viewed by 0. But I have a question for those who did.
We thought Yellow and Blue were acting like that but in retrospect it was more like a little sister. I'd be pissed living in the dark ages with no Steven Universe, showering, fast food, bad hygiene, etc. The theory that the two Diamonds switched Pearls is becoming more and more likely. When it comes to trauma, there's never just one part of a person affected. White Diamond is terrifyingly amazing as a villain. Or maybe Homeworld used to be an organic planet that was converted, but no-one ever bothered to process the oxygen-rich air? So there we have it, after a little over two long, painfully agonizing years peeling the layers of each diamond, we've finally encountered all four Diamonds and their Pearls within the last three seasons! When they stop touching her, she reverts back to her Corrupted form. She is massive and an unquestionably interesting character.
White Diamond and White Pearl share the same voice actress. Steven uses his healing spit to calm her down, allowing her to regain her senses for the first time since her corruption. Yellow disapprovingly expresses hope that the memories will return. She is also correct that the Diamonds and Steven can't hold onto Centipeetle forever to keep her uncorrupted, especially when there are hundreds of Corrupted Gems like Centi. How many perfectly adequate Gems did you have us ruin? However, as the meeting ends, he is seen back in his original position, despite not walking or moving. Maybe the reason she's glowing so much is because she's slightly tapping into her powers when she's talking to Steven for some reason? And its not like gasses just go away on their own. Everything is tying together to my theory on how the Diamonds and by extension the Gems are an artificial race created by some organic beings thus explains why the planet has atmosphere.
Weird, since she's basically Connie-powered on Homeworld. Not much more can really be said though, since this is clearly the first half of a two-parter. Those two also offer something very important for Steven, a way to finally vent frustrations with his mom. Pearl: Steven, White Diamond isn't like us. I hope we get to see more of the Diamonds learning more about Steven and accept him as he is like the Crystal Gems did. She is more powerful than the other diamonds, in terms of political power, size, and actual powers, and is apparently temperamental to the point where Yellow and Blue are frightened of her. They try to heal Centipeetle at his request, and tell him the only way to heal the Corrupted Gems permanently is to ask White Diamond for help.
White Pearl wow she is something else, and White Diamond is the ultimate don't pay attention to her children mom. Another shot shows them from behind, from which one can recognize Aquamarines and either Era 1 Peridots or another gem type with similar hair and coloration. Steven: I bet when Mom took off it was pretty graceful, huh? It was smart keeping Bismuth on Earth since she still has mixed feelings out of all of this, and if Lapis ever trains she will be more powerful than a Diamond on Earth. Then the group is surprised that they heard a cheer, come out of the ship and saw a crowd of who have gathered in front of the landing dock, in a formation resembling the original four-Diamond symbol, to celebrate Pink Diamond's return. It's been stated that she hasn't left Homeworld for thousands of years, but it's currently unknown if this includes her ship or not. This Steven Universe review contains spoilers. White's appears to be pure 'light' in the elemental sense.
Exceeding their programming, they mined their planet to the point of destruction, creating new Gems and continued to do so throughout the galaxy. And getting to see White Diamond for the first time was certainly the highlight; easily the most intimidating figure we've seen in the show up to this point. It sent shivers up my spine! Only when Steven talks to them does she look up, and her jaw drops at the sight. Nice to see the parents there to watch her go. Presumably, Connie was tired from the length of the trip, while Amethyst was just bored.
They fly this ship back to Homeworld. I'm usually a very cynical person but Steven's endless kindness gives me hope and cheers me up so much. Blue uses her power to revert Centipeetle's mind and voice to a coherent state, though she is stuck in a continuous loop of reliving the moments just before she was corrupted. Steven travels to visit family. Their designs, powers, voice actors — all delightful. They are not good guys.
