Meanwhile Danny and Spence compete over a girl from Albania named Zana. However, a series of misunderstandings with the librarian, Nana Louise , lead Doug and Carrie to go to great lengths to correct her mistakes.
Doug soon realizes Carrie is the problem so he removes her from the team making for an awkward household. During a flashback, Carrie concludes that she is happier she describes herself as never being truly happy when others are miserable. Doug tries to find proof on some old tapes. They sometimes have trouble finding time alone because Arthur tends to get in the way. Doug and Carrie complain about it, but Doug feels sorry for the dog when he finds out that all he needs are walks and secretly adopts it. However, Doug has some trouble telling his friend about his wife, afraid that he will hurt him and finally tells him in Atlantic City while gambling. At the last minute, Arthur asks Spence's mother to marry him.
